This has been causing some confusion. It refers to an account you may or may not have created with EBSCO, who supply as with DISCOVER as well as a number of other databases. This account allows you to:
- Save preferences
- Organize your research with folders
- Share your folders with others
- View others' foldersSave and retrieve your search history
- Create email alerts and/or RSS feeds
- Gain access to your saved research remotely.
You can set up this account with any username and password you like - it is not linked in any way to your University username and password, and if you try logging in with your University username and password you will not find an account already set up for you.
The Sign In link is also not a way of logging into DISCOVER from off campus. If you are off campus and you follow our link to DISCOVER, you will see a UoB login screen asking for your username and password before you are passed through to DISCOVER. If you see an error message at this stage it indicates a problem with your account, and you will need to contact us.
