ICT Alert – Postponed – Systems at risk Friday 25th November to Saturday 26th November

ICT would like to inform you that the essential planned maintenance has been postponed until further notice.

Please note the important information below regarding service downtime for essential maintenance and support for Student and Staff Printing.

What are we doing?

ICT are carrying out essential maintenance to prepare the  print  servers  for the central Storage upgrade  this Friday.

What will be affected? And when?

Student and staff printing will be unavailable between 15:30-18:00 on Wednesday 23^nd November.

Who will this affect?

All Staff and all Students

Why are we doing this?

As part of a rolling programme of maintenance and support, we are carrying out an essential upgrade to all storage systems. In order to carry out this work the above maintenance needs to be completed.

We have fixed the problem, you can now search DISCOVER direct from Lrweb!

What are we doing?

ICT are carrying out essential work on our central storage system which does not require shut down of our systems. We do not anticipate any unplanned downtime;  however the following systems should be regarded as being at risk during this period.

What might be affected? And when?

Email system: the afternoon of Friday 25^th November and all day Saturday 26^th November.

Other ICT  Services, including: Finance Systems; Student Record Systems; Breo; S-Drive; U-Drive; Local-Drives, University Internet; Printing etc. : the afternoon of  Friday 25^th November and all day Saturday 26^th November.

(Please note: ICT do not anticipate downtime on Sunday 27^th November; however, these systems should be considered at risk).

Searching DISCOVER from Lrweb

We are having issues with the DISCOVER search box on Lrweb. DISCOVER is still working though if you follow the link rather than using the search box.

Dawsonera ebooks are back - problem resolved

We are pleased to report that the problems accessing Dawsonera ebooks are now resolved.

Please let us know if you continue to have any problems.

Dawsonera ebooks unavailable

We are currently having a problem with login to Dawsonera ebooks. In this instance the problem is coming from our supplier, and they are working to resolve it as quickly as possible.

Ebooks from other providers are unaffected.
